We are thrilled to announce that the American Jidokwan Association is now the US Traditional Taekwondo Federation! This change represents our commitment to preserving the rich heritage and traditional values of Taekwondo while embracing a more inclusive and representative identity for our community.

Why the Change?
For many years, the American Jidokwan Association has been a pillar in the Taekwondo community, promoting the principles and techniques of this martial art. However, as we continue to grow and evolve, we recognized the need for a name that better reflects our dedication to all traditional aspects of Taekwondo, not just one specific kwan.

The new name, US Traditional Taekwondo Federation, embodies our mission to uphold the essence of Korean Karate. It signifies our ongoing efforts to honor the history, culture, and philosophy of this ancient martial art while fostering a spirit of unity and excellence across the United States.

What Does This Mean for Our Members?

Our core values and commitment to our members remain unchanged. Under the US Traditional Taekwondo Federation, we will continue to:
  • Provide High-Quality Instruction: Our certified instructors will keep offering top-notch training that emphasizes traditional techniques, discipline, and respect.
  • Host Competitions and Events: We will organize tournaments, seminars, and workshops that celebrate the spirit of Taekwondo and provide opportunities for skill enhancement and camaraderie.
  • Support Growth and Development: Our programs will remain focused on the personal and professional development of our members, helping them achieve their highest potential in Taekwondo and beyond.
  • Promote a Strong Community: We will foster an inclusive and supportive environment where practitioners of all ages and skill levels can come together to learn, grow, and succeed.
  • Provide Access To Korean Certification: Our leadership team maintains a strong relationship with Korea, and will continue to provide access to certification from the Jidokwan in Korea. In addition, we are developing relationships with other Kwans and can assist all Taekwondo practitioners with connecting to the homeland of their art.

What Does This Mean For Our Upcoming Masters Course?

The Jidokwan Masters Course scheduled for 2025 is still in effect. It will be hosted specifically by the Jidokwan Florida Branch, with the USTTF co-sponsoring the event. More information about the course, including the dates, venue, and itinerary can be found here.

The transition to the US Traditional Taekwondo Federation marks a new chapter in our journey. We are excited about the future and the opportunities this change brings. Our new name reflects our dedication to preserving the authenticity of Taekwondo while adapting to the evolving needs of our community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our members, instructors, and supporters for their unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. Your commitment is the driving force behind our success, and we look forward to continuing this journey together under our new identity.

Join us in celebrating this milestone and embracing the future of traditional Taekwondo in the United States!
